Kennel Project
Kennel Project
I had previously mentioned a kennel upgrade as part of a larger project. We have been in the midst of that pretty extensive backyard/“California Room” remodel over the past months. To the non Californians, it is basically an outdoor kitchen and living area designed to take advantage of the good weather. Well, we are inching closer to the final stages of the project. We currently have around 125 yards of concrete in, and on the ground, with about 25 more yards to go. I do have to say, today’s pour was some of the most satisfying. I got my kennel slab down, half the RV/Boat parking in, and the RV hook-up and sewer dump station for our travel trailer poured.
I am putting in two 5’x10’ kennels with an alumawood patio cover over the top, and a hose Bibb on the side. I also installed a privacy fence to block the afternoon sun, and the kennels from the main part of the yard. I dropped a drain in each kennel with a hefty grade break in the middle and high points on all sides to collect. Really looking forward to getting these clowns out of the house at night, and when we are away! Bird dogs in the house during construction can be testing. I have built hundreds of tract and custom houses over the years. It feels really good to finally work on my own. Some progress pics.

All the pics are great and I really like the roof. Happy for you.
Re: Kennel Project
Thanks mask, we have been planning, and saving for a long time. It’s been tough with labor and material prices catching up with our ability to save, but with all the labor I was able to do myself, we finally made it to the home stretch.

Re: Kennel Project
Thanks…….and gonehuntin, she has been a pretty big help! Her little finger prints are all over the job.
Her teacher said there are not too many other 7 year olds in class journaling about stucco and concrete pumps!

Garrison; having one "GRANDAUGHTER" about that age, and another about 6-7 years older, that picture is especially dear to my heart. But I'm sure you're aware of that. You are indeed, a blessed man.
