GoPro questions
Pro's and Con's of gopro's? What do you like about yours, what don't you llike? Which one is the best at the best price?
Re: GoPro questions
Not great for bird hunting, IMO. Too small past at 10 yards.
Re: GoPro questions
I love mine, they are great for the wide angle stuff. I wear a head strap with mine and get some amazing shots. I just bought the Fido Dog harness and want to throw it on my Lab.
Re: GoPro questions
I enjoy using mine - Hero 3+ Silver mounted to a Feiyu Tech 3 axis gimble to get a smoother product - I have both wearable and handheld gimbles. For bird hunting I set it to the narrowest field of view which gives the most depth of field, usually 60fps, 1080p.

Re: GoPro questions
I run a couple GoPro knock offs...Hat cam, Dog Cam and Cam on stick.....fun stuff and I do not have to worry about loosing a $300+ camera strapped to the dog lol...I usually do not run the highest resolution because I may run the camera a whole hunt (2+ hours) as not to miss that one great shot while goofing off trying to get the camera to fire up...just what works for me...have fun.

Re: GoPro questions
Eken H9R is just as good as the GoPro for 1/4 of the price. Accepts all the GoPro accessories as well.

Re: GoPro questions
I have a hero4. Price I'm not sure since it was a gift but I think prices are consistent. I'm sure Black Friday or cyber Monday will have some deals if your into that. Mine has the fido kit as well that includes a dog harness. I recommend getting it. It's cool for open areas but any thick brush a birddog goes through will eventually knock it off. I wear the camera on my head and turn it on when my garmin says a dog is pointing or I want some shots. The camera quality is great and can be used for other things. Not a necessity but if your in the market for a new toy this season I recommend it. I also enjoy showing my friends and family the videos I create to show off my dog.
Re: GoPro questions
You need to set the field of view on a gopro to medium if you want to see the birds, and get rid of the fisheye look/

Re: GoPro questions
I have 4 GoPros. Use them all the time fishing tournaments. Bird hunting is a different story. I have Dog harness mounts. Head strap, Sportsman mount. Only use really is watching the dog work.
Re: GoPro questions
I shoot narrow and better yet for resolution of birds getting up IMO.Thanks for the advice, medium looks a lot better.
Jump to about 7:00 mark to see resolution narrow FOV on birds getting up about 30yds from me...or waste 9" of your life and watch the whole thing...medium or wide FOV I don't think you'd see anything:

Re: GoPro questions
Nice video, did watch pretty much the entirety of the video. On a side note, I sure amy happy I do not have to deal with all those rocks and cedars. Nice looking dogs!
