Avoided Disaster

I will start off by saying my mother in law has chickens ( you see where this is going ) Last year my Maggie won the North Ga Chicken Ch ( only dog entered ) by retrieving and stacking up 11 chickens on the end of the driveway. Although not officially under judgment she was declared the winner. Well, this morning I had all the dogs out as I was planting flowers for mothers day . AS Dougie and Belle were soaking up the sun Maggie slipped off and was gone. As I headed the 667 ft to my in laws house I rounded the corner and found her standing. 27 chickens in that covey all pinned up to the corner of the house. I chose not to flush( she took a step ) and collared her thus ending her repeat performance in the 2nd annual Championship in N Ga. Time for a beer .

That's funny! Man I love Maggie,I can vouch that she's awesome on the prairie variety of chickens as well!
