Bama has made it to Pennsylvania.

Post by jcbuttry8 » Tue Dec 04, 2012 8:04 pm

So, Heather from GDE dropped off our new pup around noon today. She was packed full of energy from her time on the van but a trip to the football field did the trick. She has no problem running. The kids were extremely excited when they got home and haven't left her alone since. She is now crashed out on her bed sleeping. We have had a few accidents in the house but seems to be grasping the concept of the dog door. She should have it by tomorrow.

A huge thanks goes out to Mike (AKA Middlecreek) for such a great pup. I am extremely happy with the pup and I think she will be everything we want and more. I can't wait to get started. I'm giving her a few days and then we are off.

Here's a few pics:

Thank you. The kids are enjoying her. We should have alot of fun with her. I hope to take her out to the club for some running around this weekend and play with some birds.

Looks like a pretty nice early Christmas present for most of the family.

Vey nice looking pup, by the way. Good luck with her.

Joe,

I watched that whole litter come up. The whole litter was really nice! But I was always partial to your pup and one that went to South Carolina I think. That litter has a TON of potential to be really special. Mike really has some nice animals that represent the breed to its fullest at his place. Good luck with the pup. Cant wait to see all the pictures of the blue ribbons pile up.

I really like what I got. I love a dog with some sense to em. We have had her for a day and three mistakes in the house all number one. Each time showed put her nose in it told her no and helped her out the dog door. Got home at 3 today let her out of the crate and told her to go potty and she ran out the dog door did her business and came in. She has gone out three times since. She stayed in the crate last night. I told the boys if she gets loud come and get me. I let her out at 3 am and then again at 530 when I got up. The boys said she never made a sound. If she did it wasn't loud enough to wake anyone. Don't know if Mike did any crate training but you can't complain about having a pup that is quite in the crate.

She is definitely bold and somewhat stubborn. So, my kind of dog. I am not, have never been nor will I ever be the guy that can handle a shy, soft dog. I think you have to know what your boundaries are and stay within them. I don't have the patience nor will I ever do a dog like that justice. I like a little fight in them. She has the fight. We seem to go round and round over shoes. Think it's the only fight I may have for quite awhile. Problem is she like my muck boots. Those are an absolute no no to chew on.

Took her out for a little while to chase leaves and tweeties. She keeps bringing that tail further and further up each time. She looks good pointing the tweeties so hopefully she will keep it up. At three months, she is doing fine. We'll see what she has to offer as she gets up there. Emily and I are taking her out on Sunday and let her get a few pigeons under her belt. Hopefully, with Emily helping I can get some pics of that. Emily is ready to get started and looking forward to bird work.

Thanks for all the well wishes,

Joe

Pretty dog! I can't talk the wife into another one just yet. I would be careful with squeaker toys, it has potential to carry to the field and you don't want that!
