I attended my second field trial today to watch my friend Erin's pup run in her first field trial. Erin's pup, Prairiehawk's Mama Mia, is heavily Blackhawk bred. Erin was a little nervous about handling Mia since she had never competed in a field trial before either. Buck Daniels offered to run Mia while Erin scouted. They had a great day and won the derby class at the Prairie Chicken Championship near Bancroft, Wisconsin. Mia's uncle won the Open the day before (also handled by Buck Daniels).
I had a great time at the trial. Everyone was really welcoming and it was really exciting to see Mia do so well. We have trained together several times over the past year and its fun to see such great results.
Congrats again to Erin and Mia!!

Is the judge in the pic. Roger Shelswell?

The two judges for the Prairie Chicken Championship were Brian Sullivan and Roger Sorenson. I did see Ontario plates on one of the judge's cars.

I have a quick correction. The judge pictured is Roger Shelswell...not Roger Sorenson. Sorry about the mix-up. Good eye Sharon!
