pigeon work

Post by Troy08er » Sun May 27, 2012 10:21 pm

Really didn't plan on running her on the launcher this early. While out on walks the last few weeks we've been running into a few wild quail and she's became bird crazy. On this pic. she stopped on first scent after the launch she held her pose for a few seconds before she wanted to start the chase. She will be 4 months old tomorrow and really looking nice. :D

Photo is huge! All I can see on my screen is the end of a fuzzy tail.

Isn't that nice . (When that happens it is time to end any chasing.)

Just waiting for some fish to show up! No new pups yet waiting until we get into our new house. Cheaper to have Brad and Tyler feed and train them anyway! Do have a young lab that showed up to my classroom that I have been fooling around with. Think I am going to get him hunting and get him up to my uncle who just lost his dog to old age and good livin.

When the fish show, we should find a date that works for all of us, we could fit four if you can make it down. As far as the dog, I couldn't possibly ruin a good dog like Gator, he might give up pointing for good when he figures out what a crappy shot I am! :D I did come up on a new trailer for chukar base camp this year.

Being a rookie trainer, thought I would start a youtube account for some advice good with the bad.
This is my first video and I had my recorder on the wrong screen, you'll see. No wind with dry hit around 90+ degrees.
Maya @ almost 5 months.

PERFECT STARTER. At this time, I only want her to stop on first scent and learn if she moves the bird will fly. I'm not adding any pressure at this time just building drive and having fun.We also ran into some quail valleys and she couldn't figure them out but really tuff conditions. I almost step on one walking over some cover that scared the shxt out of me when it flushed, forgot my snake gators.
