Good deal on Astro 320 handheld

Post by Karen » Wed Dec 28, 2011 2:26 pm

We sold/traded our Astro 220 handheld last season and I've been in search of a good deal on a 320 ever since. I checked before Christmas hoping for a sale, but Cabelas was crazy expensive with nutty shipping charges, Lion Country was always $20-30 less with inexpensive shipping.

I checked again today. Cabelas was down to $479 + tax but wanted $20 for shipping. LC Supply was at $449 + tax (free shipping) but didn't have any in stock.

Amazon! $409.99, no tax & free shipping!

I've NEVER seen them for even close to that price (this is the handheld unit only...no collar). Needless to say, I ordered it.

So if anyone else needs to replace their handheld or wants to upgrade, check out Amazon first (this is NOT a refurb).

Yes, the $409 was just the handheld unit, not the collar. They are running $449 - 499 elsewhere (plus tax & shipping).

That is the best deal I've seen. Amazon is always worth a check. I got my Astro 2 years ago from Amazon; handheld and collar for $489, which was probably $40 cheaper than anywhere else.

I just got my unit and collar off amazon for $539 vs. Cabellas $650 and they didn't have them in stock.

Yup, I ordered mine on Wednesday from Amazon. I received it YESTERDAY! 2 days! Can't ask for more than that.

I believe the new Garmins are really becoming popular. I purchased my first from Amazon just before Christmas after CMC274 recommended the unit and Amazon.

I sold my 220 to a friend and bought the 320. I really like the 320 better, they added some nice improvements.
The 3 axis compass is a big improvement.
