Re: English Setter style
There are some pretty dogs on here, but for me personally I don't care about style...low heads and low tails don't bother me at all.
Re: English Setter style
In that picture I believe he was just over 4 months. We have a llewellin too, but she doesnt have near that much style.SetterNut wrote:KellyM87 wrote:
Bo on one of his very first liberated bird finds (Field Trial grounds after a hunt test) Think he will probably be pretty stylish too. Runs VERY stylish.
Kelly, how old is Bo in that picture? He looks a lot like my Llewellin pup Indy, a few posts above.
Re: English Setter style
Style to me can't be captured in a photograph because it takes in more than appearance. It has to do with the way the dog goes about its' business, the desire it displays as it runs, etc.
If I had to pick a photograph on point in which I can see what I am looking for, it would be this...
It's an old photo I have posted before but I think it best shows the intensity I look for in a dog.

Sadie is out of Woody's Royacelle Lizzy and Poole's Royacelle Rhett. She is a litter mate sister to Sage (Bucks dam) and a half sister to Alabama Twister.

Re: English Setter style
I think we should just call this Setter style, starting to consider bleaching my dog!

I am certainly with you on that one Don! Awesome looking dog!DonF wrote:You are absolutely right! I wouldn't give a hoot in he*l for a guy that didn't brag on his dog no matter what anyone else thinks of it!BirdBuster wrote:Don, I think you are just bragging at this point. Bodie I believe it is, is indeed a nice looking bird hound.

Style when he runs I don't know how to photograph. But that dog when let go crusies a field whit a vengence, fast! He keeps running fast as long as he can. If he crosses a bird he goes from mock one to zero in the bat of ane eye. When you are running a dog with style, you always watch the dog for fear of missing something. When that kind of dog does something, they do it fast.

Hard to discribe style with words but when you are watching a dog and you are riveted to the dog, it's the style that grabs you. You ever notice that some women immediately attract attention when entering a room? Some thing, there's something there you'll have a hard time defining!

He is talking about the dogs tails Steve! Donn't think you setter guys can beat us Britt guys in the other departments!Chukar12 wrote:Size doesn't matter SteveI kinda feel sorry for the owners of "stub-tails"

Re: English Setter style
This about as close as I can get to photographing style when my english setter runs. An active high tail and smooth stride.DonF wrote: Style when he runs I don't know how to photograph.

This is my 10 month old pup from Berg Brother Setters. I'm thinking of "Berg's Honky Tonk" for his registered name.
