Went when it was in Des Moines, a year or two back. Was a good day outing, with quite a few vendors and a decent choice of short seminars.

Thats great. I think my wife and I are going to fly up and attend. The "sporting" shows down here are showing less and less upland bird stuff. It might be nice if a group of us could meet and have lunch together. Just a thought..

Agreed. There are very few upland stuff at any of the shows, it's very frustrating!

National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic, February 17, 18 & 19, 2012 Kansas City Convention Center at Bartle Hall. I've always wanted to go and I am very happy they're having it in KC this year!

My Mom says I can dump all four of our dogs at their place. As long as Dad isn't out of town... (He travels a lot for business.)

I'm biased because I work for PF - but it's an awesome event. This year's event should be the largest one we've had - again biased because I'm in Missouri. The location is excellent with a lot of bars/restaurants within walking distance and an absolute abundance of good seminars on quail, dogs, hunting, and other wildlife topics.

You'll love it. I know I did the first time I went - and have enjoyed them since that first one as well.

So, are they combining PF and QF, or is QF somewhere else?

Combining.. Come on over. We can have a great discussion on best value of dog food based on price per pound. :D

Hey' I'm thinking about it. I'll give some of those feed salesmen fits! Wife has family near Springfield, Mo so we may make a circle in that area. Should be plenty of motels near Center.

They should arrange a meeting area for internet friends. Perhaps I should take charge of that, unless you want to BOSSMAN. :D

Since Loyall, my brand, is made near there, might stock up and get a discount. I wonder what hotels will be used the most in that area by the convention goers? Plenty of time, but just wondering.

The Marriott Downtown/Covention Center I think is the official hotel. It's actually connected to the convention center. Many others in the area

I believe they have rooms blocked with special rates for the Fest at the Marriott, Aladdin, Hilton President, Holiday Inn KCI Airport, and Chase Suites. I'm sure many others are available.

Great idea! I'm a speaker every year, already booked for KC. Plenty of good stuff, lots of seminars, and a buttload of dog breeds. Bring your camera and your Visa card. A lunch/happy hour would be fun. Don't forget to attend the banquets, too.

You won't want to stay near KCI, it's quite a ways north of downtown. There are lots of hotels in Johnson county on the Kansas side within 30 minutes of downtown in Overland Park, Lenexa and Olathe if you have a hard time finding something downtown that fits what you're looking for.

Luckilly I have a BIL that lives right near the Sprint Arena. I won't be paying for lodging!
I've never been, and I'm not going to buy anything, so I hope its full of alot of other good stuff than just shopping for dog supplies. :D

jayhawk, I think you're just trying to boost the economy on the Kansas side, it's 25-30 min from the airport down to the KCCC also

It's also much prettier around here :D

Kansas may have better bird hunting, but I sure wouldn't want to live there, especially compared to beautiful Missouri.

The excitement will mount in the coming months as my wife and I are seriously considering being there.
