The material is online. www.dobbsdogs.com

gun dogs by Richard Wolters. Love the book. He trains for the fellow hunter. You can use what you want and trash the rest. he has different methods and my dog takes well to these. Love the book and enjoy training.

I actually just received the Wolters book in the mail today. 3 hours later I'm about 90% finished with it. Very easy to read, and he's got some great ideas. I loved it. He also shoots pretty straight, it's amazing how refreshing it is to read stuff published a few decades ago...

Try "training with Mo" once you read it you probably will not pick up another training book. Very good step by step explaining.

I recently bought "Training with Mo".

It is a very easy read and the methods he uses are very low pressure with lots of positive reinforcement and "hands on".

I would encourage every new trainer to read this book. It makes you get into the dog's head and encourages you to put your hands on the dog instead of getting you wrapped up in which equipment to buy and which tools to use and when to push buttons.

Dog training is about getting your hands on the dog and with those hands, lettng the pupil know that they are doing the right thing.

If, down the road, you want or need training options... Mark Payton's book is an excellent resource for that. He gives several different methods to accomplish the same task and describes each in some detail. No one method is absolutely right for all dogs...all the time. It is nice to have options.
