Cograts tommyboy. i remember the day my son was born it was the second hottest day in KS according to the weatherman that day. Today we are getting a blizzard and some forecasts say as much as 24 inches.

Thanks guys and Cimarron I must not live too far from you because I am in the Oklahoma panhandle and we are having blizzard conditions here today as well.

That's right. I saw that we were fairly close. I am about two hours away. I got stuck in Dodge City this morning after I got off work. The roads around here are all closed. Anyone crazy enough to travel in this weather should have thier head examined, but congrats and this birth is definitely one for the stories of the furture.

Thanks Cimarron I appreciate it. I am in my last semester of college and just got a job working for the Census Bureau and was gone all week to Beaver, Ok. for a training seminar. Just got in last night before the rain and snow hit thanks to a kindly instructor. The higher ups in OKC and KC wanted us to stay until today and then try and drive home in this weather. Heck Beaver is 100 miles away and the highways going there are terrible. Ridiculous government bureaucrats. Ya these roads around here are horrible as well. The roads in town are the worst. I have a 4 wheel drive but there is so much snow on the untraveled town roads that I was afraid of getting high centered just going to the store. Hope the city gets out and grades the road tomorrow but I am not counting on it.

I find it easy for people that don't live where you do to make those important decisions like when and where you should travel bar the weather or other circumstances. Guess we finally got the moisture that we've needed, hopefully the birds won't have a big kill off.

Thanks midwest and it does look like we finally got some moisture. Hopefully this moisture will carry over for awhile since it is so far and few between that we get rain or snow. I hope there wasn't a big kill off on birds either. It did not get super cold here just a lot of snow. Guess I will be staying in again today. Town roads are just too deep with snow to get around even with 4 wheel drive.
