sick after shots

Post by Gridiron and Grouse » Sat Jan 03, 2009 9:29 am

Hello. i have a 15 week old Vizsla. We took her to the vet yesterday for her last round of shots. She became really lethargic later in the night. This morning she woke up, threw up, showed no interest in eating (very unusual!) and went back to sleep.

Is this common?

I can't say it is normal but also not all that uncommon. Shots can effect them for a day or so. Just watch her and if you see no improvement by tonight or at least tomorrow I would take her back to the vet. You could also call them today and see what they suggest.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

I would call your vet asap. My setter had a bad reaction to his lyme disease shot once and we almost lost him due to it. Not trying to scare you, just better to be cautious with those types of things.
