Hi All -

New to the forum, not to bird dogs or GSPs. We lost our 14YO male about a year ago and are ready to jump back into the intense training regimen again. I have three kids who are starting to get to hunting age as well, and will be a family pet. We're looking for a liver roan female, fresh pup, not started. Planning to primarily hunt in WI and MN, also a bit in SD. Possibly NAVHDA tests, but depends on time.

I've been pouring through the forum and various other groups for recommendations on breeders. Some of the kennels are still around, some not. The big names that have been shared are looking for $2K+ per dog and I need to be under that. We're hoping to get a puppy in early spring, which I know might be difficult with waiting lists. We're in WI and hoping to stay in state, but would look west to MN if needed.

Curious if anyone has recommendations on GSP breeders or leads on recent litters? Thanks!

I know of a small breeder in central Mn. whose bloodlines are very good. He likely will have puppies available in the in the spring. Reasonably priced and from some good family bird dog bloodlines.

We decided to pick out a pup this past weekend. Based on what I found in our area we were either waiting until May or getting one now, and this girl will be a great fit.

What a beauty. Brings back great reminders of 2 GSPs that I had. Enjoy.
