I have always been a Ford man & will probably die with a Ford or 2 in the driveway. My best friend was a GM guy to the end, every year in hunting camp he would say Fords in trouble,Fords in trouble, think he use to say it for my benefit but I asked him,if Ford is in trouble then what does that make GM? unfortunately he had a heart attack & passed before he saw who was really in trouble.I would give anything to be able to argue that around the campfire one more time.Greg & I agreed on most things but were very adament about things we disagreed on but were very good friends & always enjoyed each others company no matter what we were doing together.I miss him. :(

Howie was planning on buying a new Chevy pick up in the fall. He has a real had time with Chevy pick ups being assembled in Mexico. This is the nail in the coffin for Howie. Ford, gave it some thought. Says the eco boast engine needs to be proven. Lots of air being forced into the V-6 to make the power it does.

I'm not a fan of 6 cyl in trucks anyway,I don't care what they stick on them to make power just don't think they will last under the stress of towing or hauling :!: JMO

I like ford and toyota personally (and ford did not take a bailout). I have owned a dodge before but was not a big fan of it.

I don't buy into this. Its a competition. This has to do with obama as well.

No one builds a complete car that's 100% American made. Not gm not ford not dodge.
I trust gm over ford, dodge, any day. I own all three trucks and the ford and dodge are always breaking down.
The silverado saw a shop once for a sensor in 160000 miles. Thats where my trust is.

Just the point The less made in the USA the less jobs funded by our tax dollar. There was a time everything was made in the USA. We the tax payer bailed out company's and lost money.... We barrow money from Chinia and in return our manufacters hand jobs to Chinia. Some off our dime ?

Your right an un-employed American doc worker is better than an un-employed domestic car employee.

So short sighted

On the flip side, the Duramax engine used in many of those GM's was designed by Isuzu but the plant is in Moraine IL. Yep, a Japanese company employing Americans and they have probably broken the 2 million engine mark by now. BMW has a large plant in TN ( I think) where they employ hundreds if not thousands of workers. It's nothing new in the auto industry for companies to have plants in foreign countries to honor trade agreements or cut costs on export. It would shock many to see how many Japanese parts are on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Try starting that discussion at the local biker bar after pulling up on a rice burner and let me know how that works out. :D

Trade agreements I think is where the American worker always takes it in the back side.

Anytime you import more then export economy will fail. We need well paying manufacturing jobs, not import vender jobs. The bulk of the money leaves the USA.

Give me a Cummins engine, Allyson Tranny and the Ford Cabellas edition body and I would be one happy camper.

Not sure if this is true, but i heard cummins is making a deal with ford.
Also heard, new dodge trucks are dropping the "dodge" and now will only be called "ram trucks" and because of this cummins is leaving them due to a contract deal or something
Just rumors but who knows

We run Dads ol dodge diesel over 400,000 miles towing a huge horse trailor with 7 horses in the thing. Up the rockies, to calif and back to ny and every race track in between. Had to rebuild the tranny but other than that..

My cousin owns a constrution crew, pulls a huge trailor full of construction stuff, very heavy, pulls it with a eco boost, pulls better than the ol dodge did. An engine is a air pump, so forced induction is a great way to get 100% out of the engine. Now for real power up the boost and run E-85. It will suprise you.
