Only 1 egg hatching

Post by Jidano3 » Mon May 23, 2016 2:42 pm

I have noticed that only 1 egg of 2 is hatching. I regularly have fresh water and never ending food supply, so I am looking for answers. I have 5 birds (6 until recently....hawk :x ). 3 nesting and all are doing the same thing. Didn't have this problem last spring. I have had my loft for less than 3 years and all the birds started as squeekers. The loft is 4' x 4' with an aviary on the front. Any help with a process of elimination would be appreciated.

This happens sometimes with the first eggs they have laid or first of the season. Check them to see if they are fertile.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.
