How do you know

Post by Jidano3 » Mon Jul 06, 2015 5:23 pm

I have had pigeons for about a year now and have been reading posts about racing. I purchased a few birds from a racing stock. The guy said he had just too many and wanted to sell some "YB's". How do I know they could be racing birds? They fly very well, and I have trained them out to 5 miles from home (that is some of my training area). They find their way back quite easily.

The best way to find out is to raise some young from them, band them, train and race them. An experienced flyer could probably tell you also but you still have to go through the whole routine.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

So there is a designated starting line and the finish line is their loft? I'm not sure what " the whole routine is". It seems like it would be a fun for me and my son to do together as a friendly competition.

Sorry, the routine I speak of is back to the routine of raising some young, band, and train them.
