Pigeon using 2 nests?

I bought my first breeding pair of pigeons about a month ago. About a week ago 1 egg was laid in a nesting bowl and they have been sitting on it every day when I have fed them. Today when I fed them they were sitting on a different nesting bowl. I picked the bird up and there was 1 egg underneath it. Are they going to raise both eggs in separate nests? Did something happen to the first so they laid another? Should I put the eggs in the same nest even though they are a week different in age? There is only the one breeding pair in the coop right now.
