Is the question about the tritronics collar or the beeper?

Michel, I have the G2 that works with an accessory beeper. In other words, you buy the G2 electric collar, and then buy an accessory beeper that you can add on to the collar. You can turn the accessory beeper on and off by setting the transmitter to "A" for accessory, and then using the buttons on the transmitter.

It is a great concept. For me, it means that you do not have to have the beeper going all the time, but need only turn it on when you have to locate the dog or when you think it has gone on point.

I have really bad high frequency hearing, a side affect of a medicine I took for a number of years, and probably too much shooting also. The sound of the current accessory beeper is a very high frequency tone which cannot be changed because the sound generator is a piezoelectric device. For someone with bad high freq. hearing, the collar cannot be heard very far away. In my case, even at the highest volume setting, I cannot hear it at more than 50' if there is any background noise, such as wind.

Also, although it sounds like a contradiction, the volume right at the collar is very very loud. Ear piercingly so. Loud enough that it concerns me about possible damage to the dog's ears.

I have talked to Tri-Tronics about this, and they have a low frequency collar in development. But it has been "in development" for a couple of years.

There are two or three levels of volume, and also several different tone patterns, including a hawk scream, that can be preprogrammed with DIP switches.

Just as a footnote, the accessory collar must be used with the G2. It is the G2 electric collar that actually receives the signal from the transmitter, and then re-transmits to the accessory beeper.

It is a great concept, great idea. If you still are young and have good ears, it will probably work very well for you.

I give two thums up to TriTronics and their beepers...excellent customer service as well. I also have the beeper controller on the transmitter. That was the best thing I did, get control of the beeper on your transmitter.

In my opinion Tri-tronics is the best collar manufacturer hands down. They make quality products. They also have good customer service to back it up. Good luck

I have one and wont use it any more. I find them to be annoying but thats just my opinion. I would use it more often if there was a way to set the beep sound to every 10 seconds while in point mode. Kind of the opposite of the run mode and the point mode. I just dont need to be hearing a beep every other second. Specially with nervouse birds.
