Policy on Negative (Dis)Recommendations

I lost the sticky where I originally posted this. My apologies.

It is GDF policy that negative (dis)recommendations of a business/trainer/breeder/etc. be communicated via PM or email. Please do not post on the forums.

Although truth is a sure defense against libel, one has to prove that it's the truth and we don't want to be in that position.

Thanks,

Update/Clarification:

So, basically, when someone posts here asking for a recommendation on a breeder or trainer, especially one of our members, make any negative comments or any extensive, balanced, comments via PM or email, not on the forums.

If someone wants to say "Done business with them for years, they're good people" or something brief and positive, go ahead.

Now, why: we do this for two reasons:

1. Most importantly, to protect the small kennel/trainer business; especially our members. We've had *extensive* experience with this and I'm about 110% confident that it's the right way to go.

2. To protect GDF from harrassing lawsuits. GDF doesn't have the financial means to defend itself from such.
