Ok. for those of ya'll who hunt/train off of your horses, how do you have your saddles set up or equipped for the task? Im interested in if you use saddle bags, and whats in em, what you use as a scabbord for your shotguns. Do you carry check cords and leashes or are they in the saddle bags? Ive been running my dogs off of horse back for the last several months and always find myself wishing I had somthing.....

So lets see em.....

thanks
Jim

I have pretty much what the above pix shows..I have a scabbord that I made from used leather from a friend. My saddle bags contains ammo, xtra batteries for flashlights, flashlights, sandwiches and other goodies, binaculars, inflatable dog dish and gloves...attached to the trooper saddle is also few gallons of water for the dogs. And xtra rigs for harvested birds, along with 3-4 leash. Everyone has their own preferrence on type of equipment to be carried afield. You'll figure it all out after several years of hunting. People can tell you what you need but, if so you'll need more then a few packing horses. JMO..............Good luck

How much water do the horses require on a days hunt?
