So what's on your saddle ?
So what's on your saddle ?
I just interested in what people carry with them when working dogs off horseback. So what's on your saddle when trialing ? Just working dogs ? And, what kind of saddle do you use ?
Re: So what's on your saddle ?
Look back and see if you can find a post with this same title. Think it was active possibly a year ago but I think a little less.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Generally speaking - I carry a saddle gun - either a short .410 in a scabard or a .22 with rat shot in a holser attached to my horses breast collar - I carry my tracker or garmin on the front left side attached to a ring on my saddle - 2 gallons of water on each side of the rear of the saddle - and a rope and roading harness - if I attach my saddle bags I generally carry extra blanks and a rain coat

Karen,
In the previous thread's pic are those stirrup-turner thing-a-mabobs on your leathers? If so, how do you like them? How much difference do they make?

Those are the EZ-Up stirrup extenders....they have a button that drops the stirrup 3 inches and then you lift them back up with your toe once you're seated.
I HATE them. You have to haul yourself up 3 inches less, but you have to get your right leg up and over the horse by 3 more inches. It can be done with practice, but then the metal digs into your shin if you don't keep your heels down all the time.
I don't use them anymore.
