Hoof cleaning

Post by dlfl » Fri Dec 26, 2008 10:07 am

I am a trained farrier but do not do it for a living. I am wondering how many take the time to clean the hooves everyday for those horses keep in a stable or small area?

I know in horsecare books they recommend daily cleaning, but....

I clean hooves before and after each ride and (for my personal horse here) about once every week that I don't ride. However, our horses are not stabled.

Not me--We have three horses-two riders(Tenn walkers)-and one retired Quarterhorse. They live in our pasture except for our 9 day gun season- we do their feet when we ride but that's about it. They are shoed from April till late oct then we just get feet trimmed.
