Just saying Hi

Post by Gwyndon » Sun Jun 24, 2007 7:47 pm

Well I will start by saying that I have been a dog lover all my life, and I currently have a 5 year old golden named Midas.

However, I have just recently started to explore the world of upland bird hunting and plan on getting my first experience in the field this year. I have been a deer hunter since I was legal to hunt and have done my share of small game. Bird hunting appeals to me because it is something that my girlfriend (she also deer hunts) and I could do together along with sharing the experience with "mans best friend".

So all in all I just want to say hi and introduce myself. I am a resident of the state of Michigan and have been all my life.

Thank You for all the welcomes

By the way do you guys recommend a specific breed for a first time gun dog?

I have been considering the following:
Goldens (obviously)
Vizlas
Welshies
Brittanys

and I am open to any other suggestions

A little about me, I have a large yard, I have no problems with dominant breeds, but I do work a 8:30 to 5pm shift but try to walk my dog either before work of after work.
