Welcome to the forum. Jager is a great looking pup. How does he do with the Nevada heat? I had GWP cross when I lived in Winnemucca and summers were heck on her and it wasn't until late October or early November she really enjoyed upland hunting.

He just turned 7 months so haven’t had him hunting in the heat yet, but the other two pudelpointer guys I train with have had both types of dogs with short and long coats and they said there definitely was a difference. Though they thought cold waterfowl hunting, long wiry coat seemed better.
