Porcupine Avoidance Clinics

A while ago, I saw that a porcupine avoidance clinic was being held in Idaho as a fund-raiser for an animal shelter. I assume that the principle for these is similar to that of "snake training" a dog. (Heavy stimulation etc) Does anyone know the success level of these clinics?
