we use a shackled pheas. with a piece of surveyors tape for a stringer, so we can see where the bird went. dogs learn to track that real quick. only takes a few lessons to make a good pheasant retriever out of any GSP I have ever owned. Well now, I have read all these posts and not one accuratly pinpoints any "genetic differences". baby deer have no scent so be careful, easy to step on one.

we have had some brought in by folks out hiking, they thought the mom had deserted the baby, causes troubles as you then bottle feed or put down.
