I use a bell and a astro 320 dc40 collar I listen for the bell to keep track of the dog so I'm not always looking at the astro, only time I use the astro is when the bell has falling silent, the astro takes me right to the dog I use it untill I get 40 yards away from the dog then I get ready to flus...

your kennel is dirt dig Down about a few inches and put some tin down about 2 ft on the inside then cover it back up when the dog digs down and hits the tin he can't go no deeper the dog may try differantdrum spots but will give up trying to dig out

my setter finds and points grouse fine but hear in michigan grouse run like crazy there lies the problem, when the bird takes off she try to relocate but puts the bird up to many times she's not busting the birds she try to follow but apperantly crouds the birds , how would be some ways I can train ...

i would get a second op, dogs sometime have allergys i have one dog that has ear problems wax build up and eyes waters worst in the spring when the weather changes but i would do it now could be something worse

i beleive a dog that has enough prey drive can be fix had a frinde got a pointer she would blink birds you could see she smell the birds and would turn and go the other way it took awhile but she end up being a good grouse dog alot of people would have given up on the dog

i use more than one dog you can change them out the dogs stays fresh but at my age i were out much faster than the dogs and if your dog gets hurt and cant hunt for a while your seasons not over i have 4 dogs i can hunt sometimes i hunt 2 at a time

hears what has worked for me .use a reg lead snap it to the dogs collar start walking as soon as the dog tightens on the lead give it a jerk more of a pop you dont have to jerk it to hard and change direction the dog will run to the front when he dose pop again and change direction it dont take long...

i agree with gonehunting you dont need all the levels of stim.my frind said my dogs responds to level 75 and i have over a hundred levels. so that means 74 and under dont count.my dog level is two on my collars .have had to go to three when my dog gets a little hardheaded but then right back to two....
