Hate wearing a coat in the field. Most seem to cumbersome. I layer until I'm comfortable and wear a Buck's Bags strap vest over.

Alright, I went right to the source and called the Camden County MDC. Lead is ok if it is not a public land that is specifically posted non-tox. Toronto Springs is not posted, therefore, Lead is acceptable for dove there. Specific Quail Empahsis areas may or may not be psoted as non-tox. My understa...

Page 16 is kind of vague. "Shot possessed or used while hunting teal statewide, or doves, rails, snipe and woodcock as designated by posting on public areas, must be approved as nontoxic by The U.S. Fish and Wildlife service." I put water out before I let my dogs out of the truck to hunt. It's there if they want it when they unload and it's there when they get back and don't have to wait for me to straggle back to fill it.

It seems like I do more hunting alone the last couple fo years. My hunting partner, my step-dad, hit 72 this year. He still goes out with me when he can. I don't really trust any of my "friends" shooting over my dogs. they have demonstrated that they don't have a clue.

Most of the good adult formulas are great for pups. As long as the kibble is small and easy to chew. Most good adult formulas are essentially all-age even if not designated as such. I fed Loyall Active Adult to my pup, and still feed it. I also pay around $28 for 40#, and it's superior to most feed...

Good discussion here guys. I can see merit in both approaches. In either case, the dog needs to get comfortable with birds. He can be trained to overcome his fear or he can be taught there is nothing to fear. From a pro trainer's point of view; Dashin suggestion is the route which is most efficient...
