Re: Newbie needing a helping hand

I put him in his kennel and sit there until he calms down but he gets himself so worked up I'm worried about his health. And off leash he is just like he is on leash directly under my feet. He won't go to the bathroom outside unless I come with. Tonight I snuck off while he was going. I got around ...

Just lift him up, I love dogs that are careful with themselves like that, he may save you a knee surgery one day....... I do too. While my pup jumps up/off the tail gate he does wait for me at barbed wire fences. He got a minor puncture from one as a pup and now will wait for me to lift the bottom ...

I've never dealt with severe separation anxiety, but I would guess it's a confidence issue. He's still pretty young so I would guess he'll grow out of it. What does the pup do off leash? What do you do when the pup is freaking out in the create? I would address this issue by putting him in the kenne...

I think most people on here will tell you let the pup bump and chase and figure it out. Personally, my pup was starting to have a little too much fun chasing so I starting to whoa on the flush and use the collar if he didn't stop. That actually ended up stopping the bumping as well. I'm surprised yo...

Not sure why a previous post advises not to follow-up on flushed birds. I have found that they hold a little bit tighter on second and third flushes. Unless his point is that it stresses the bird too much. I think that is exactly the point. I've never worried too much about that though, because the...

I would say no. That is only going to make the dog confused and make a headache for you. Make it as easy for the pup as you can to figure it out what your expectations are. It's really about the same amount of work anyway because when the pup knows the command, it'll figure out what the stim means r...

I've found that with my pro 100, my pup responds to 2 low in most situations, but when I was dechasing him on birds, I found that the first few birds of the morning he needed a 3 low to stop the chase and listen to my whoa command. By the third or fourth bird, I would switch back to 2 low and if nee...

What do you consider nearby? I think Minneapolis is great for the hunter/fisher that wants to have a variety of options available while still maintaining a good balance for family life. IMO, the TT pro 100 is the best collar for consistent stim.
