I like using paint rollers--they are light, cheap, come in different sizes, and pups like picking them up & carrying them around.

When he gets the leash tight--change direction, if he gets it tight again, change direction--that way he'll start watching you more to see which direction you are going. It will get him to pay more attention to you. It worked for me, maybe it will work for you.

I just use a small petmate kennel like I ship my pups in. They will hold about 12 pigeons, has a handle on to carry them, and most farm stores carry them for under $40.
