I've had pups that rock solid pointed the first bird they ever saw at 5 weeks of age. I've had others that showed interest but didn't get around to pointing until they were a few months old. All of them turned into great field dogs, so either way it's not an indicator of potential.

I'd do some research on vaccine and the prairie rattler and see what kind of cross-protection the vaccine provides for it.
I've been told that the vaccine has next to no protection against the eastern diamondback, which is one reason we've chosen not to get it.

As a HT judge, I will not fail a dog for turning to mark the fall of a bird. I expect it, and barring 'significant forward motion', it's practically a non-event.

The way I understand it is the Ivomec works retroactive for the previous month to kill any heart worms. Also Ivomec kills all worms but tape worms I believe. I'd probably get there by 8:30 or so. Better to be an hour early than 5 minutes late. Most clubs will proceed without you and then you'll be out your entry fee.

Love Yuengling, that's my everyday beer - the stuff I drink regularly, that I buy by the 12 pack or case. Yuengling opened a brewery in Tampa about 10 years ago, so we've been enjoying it down here for a while. I hear the delay on selling it in Ohio was that Yuengling wanted to build another brewery...

I have never been to a Walking Trial that the walking gallery walks in front..Matter of fact they are usually eating the dust from the riding gallery, which I think is very rude. I had my battery go bad. Same thing, Garmin replaced the collar. I also learned that too much heat for too long can shorten the battery life, so now I bring the collar inside after a trip instead of leaving it in the van.

That is the best deal I've seen. Amazon is always worth a check. I got my Astro 2 years ago from Amazon; handheld and collar for $489, which was probably $40 cheaper than anywhere else.
