Re: Bartlett dog food?
your right, i dont have any knowledge of bartlett foods nor do i claim to have any. I was just making general references to what i look for in a food and in no way implied bartlett was good, bad or anything else. I would like to hear others thoughts on that food as it is a new one to me. As far as t...

Re: Bartlett dog food?
ezzy333 is right by saying the only for sure way is by feeding the food as not all dogs will do well on any given food. With that said, you can, however, narrow down your search before you even open a bag. look at the ingredient list and if the first ingredient is any type of corn or grain product, ...

Re: Enhance Professional Athlete dog food
Wildrose-have you fed any of the Hunter's Edge by Arkat? Yes. My dogs didn't do nearly as well on it as the enhance line. CR I will agree with this one. I feed the endurance blend over the hunters edge and have gotten better results. I have a client that loves hunters edge but I prefer the enduranc...

Re: Loyall Dog Food
i personally sat through a 2 day seminar on nutrena feeds, which makes Loyall. A big portion of the presentation was geared towards this new line of dog food. I was not impressed because they really didnt talk much about any nutrition or key ingredients, all they bragged about was their "opti-cook" ...

Gotta ask though you sure you aint protesting BG so much just because you have an Enhance feed link on the website link you use as your signature.  Enhance is a heck of a food for sure and if I had a supplier nearby i would probably feed it, I just find it funny you protest something th...
Re: grouse?
i go to the top of the mtn, usually at 10,000 feet or close to it anyway. grouse are found all over the state but i only have hunted them in the northern region. the terrain can be rough at times fro blues but the scenery is awesome.
grouse?
I dont see any posts on here about grouse hunting. Out here in Utah we have tons of national forest and grouse are all over the place. Has anybody hunted grouse on here........i for one chase blue grouse like ohters chase pheasants, since we have very few roosters in our state.

Re: Black Gold Dog Food
The proof of my point is the millions of dogs being fed thousands of different dog foods and they are doing well on them. Ezzy How do we know this? just because a dog is alive doesnt mean it is "doing well". I have seen many dogs come for training that were malnurished from one of the "thousands of...

Re: Pigeons in close quarters?
I have a pigeon coop 10 feet away from my dogs and the only down side is occasionly a dog will bark at the birds but that usually is short lived with only new dogs. once they get used to the birds the dog usually settles down.
it wont bother the birds at all.

Re: What are you thoughts about the Sport Dog 1800?
I use the sd-2000 which is a similiar version of the sd-1800, just a bit hotter on the low end for more stubborn dogs, and I have had great success with it over the years. A friend of mine purchased a sd-1800 from me, lost it one fall at a camping trip on the top of a mountian and found it the next ...

Re: how far do you hunt from your truck
here in utah there are a lot of people that would give you a funny look if you asked them how far they hunt from a truck. Road hunting is a problem out here in my opinion.
as for me, I hunt alot of blue grouse so I am at 10,000 feet and 5-10 miles away from my truck.

Re: Just a Freindly Reminder....
I am sure that the vast majority of the folks who visit this site are already vaccinating their dogs, BUT, i figure it never hurts to have a little reminder. I have seen 3 cases of parvo this week, and about that many heartworm positive dogs this past month. BOTH of these ailments are VERY preventa...

Re: Enhance Professional Athlete dog food
Well, the truth of the matter is with any dog food is this.....not every dog will do well on any given dog food out there. there are dog foods that a vast majority of dogs do great on but for some reason there are always some dogs that a given food just cant help. I have found arkat to be the best s...

Re: Black Gold Dog Food
The reason they list meat meal as "Meat Meal" is because that is what they use as an ingredient. It is just that. The plants where it is produced do not seperate all of the different sources but mix them all together. What the dog gets from the meat is amino acids and has no idea or preference what...

What food are you currently feeding? Personally i wont feed another bag of black gold ever again. I had such a bad time with loose stools and dogs getting the runs. I am also not comfortable with any dog food that wont expicitly name the meat source and the last time I checked they listed "meat meal...

Re: Enhance Professional Athlete dog food
I have read some of the reviews of Enhance and other dog foods that are on the internet and they are way off the mark....some guy in a suit that has never fed a dog looks the label on the bag and determines if the foood will work or not. I can assure you those reviews are NOT people actually feeding...

Re: E collar or not?
Here is my 2 cents on the e-collar debate......years ago i hated them with a passion because i would go to picnic hunt tests and see guys "lighting up" their dogs for small infractions. I would see these same dogs run hunt tests with their legs between their legs even without the color on. It was at...

I have a 16 year old akc master hunter lab at my feet and i was wondering how old are some of your hunting dogs? Anybody have an old akc master hunter lab that is as old or older that my old boy?
