Re: Puppy Stakes part II
doco, we'll have to get together if you are at Nationals for the amateur. Doug, as you know, puppy only gives a dog a max of 2 points. Puppy and derby don't do much for most dogs toward their FC title. Good dogs will finish no matter if they received juvenile points. Lukewarm dogs will always be th...

Re: Puppy Stakes part II
I tend to believe we leave puppy rules static and do not put birds out for the puppies, who typically are somewhat out of control lunatics who are running and hunting purely because of their genetics. I like it that way!! I agree with TB. Leave it alone. The puppy stakes are the draw for the future...

Here's a quick one in my reply to someone who judged my pups in October..........I like some of my ice cream a little melted. "They have been a lot of fun. I come home every weekend tired, smiling, and hoarse. I forgot how much work it was to hang on to puppies. After running them I am drained. I ju...

Awesome looking dog. There are volumes to be said too, for buying a pup from someone who wants to keep in the loop on what's happening with the dog, wants to see the dog succeed, and helps to make that happen. That's exactly what Greg Jennings said - he also has at least one dog from Brenda. Buy the...

Here is one for you Doug. My last Pointer is out of a double bred Fibber McGee and a double bred Lil Whippersnaer (Sir Lancelots Grandmother bred back to Sir Lancelot) I was going to name him MH McGees Sireaton. I had a GSp whom has now passed. I live in Upstate NY real bony, rocky, horrible terrain for a high powered dog. Tore her ACL at 9 years old and had it repaired. Still cleared 3' high child gates like it was her job. Hunted her with no evidence of surgery. Then at 11 she tore the other one. Had it r...

One week before would certainly seem reasonable for us Am's. I have a 1500 mile drive and only have limited time off from work so if I knew that I was running on Mon, it could save me a day or two on possibly both ends. So for those of us that are traveling that kind of distance for a "National Even...

Hey BS, You are absolutely 100% right. There is no way to guarantee what any dog can do at 8 weeks old. All any of us can do is guess. However, if someone is looking for a footdog, I as a breeder would be more than willing to tell them that the parents run out there 4-800 yards if the terrain allows...

IMO....I blame the Breeder! As a responsible breeder, he/she controls the matchmaking. The breeding was determined to exhibit certain traits. It is our responsibility to place our dogs in the right hands. It's not fair to put the dog in a situation that it is not genetically wired for. My next breed...

It's not about the papered dogs. It is about the oops breedings, cross breedings, or garage breedings that cause the owners to think that they should try to replicate what they have. Where do all of these dogs end up and with whom to continue to perpetuate the sin. Unfortunately or Fortunately, as s...

Can't stand designer Breeding. It is not about the breeding, it's about the $$$$$$$$$$. If you want to improve a breed for a reason then choose the right parents.
