17 days, she will lay the other egg today or tomorrow. Do not move the egg, the worst thing you can do is try to help them out! They will do just fine. I went thru all of these same problems, just picked up some more homers today.

Gorgeous!! I took a walk this morning and found a bunch of False Morels, I find them delicious too! Some people get deathly sick from the wrong ones but I don't . I had a US Forest service gal with me the one time, same area and she could eat them but her hubby would get sick!

Yes, but on the other hand----you have the Mearns Quail. Lady would go on point, 3-4 feet in front of her 10-15 Mearns would go airborn, flying every direction on the compass. Yes, I would have to agree, shut all doors! Cat killed the last ones, weasels, twice before that, but I do have a black squirrel and a white weasel pelt to show for my ignorance! The first few times it was the costly white, racing homers. I too am starting over with wild squeakers.

You could lock their wings, but they can not fly until you unlock them. Kick cages can also be easily made. Yes, thanks for the info! I got mine in the mail, Fri. I would think they would have the charging contacts covered with a slide door. Like suggested, tape over the contacts is no problem. It sure looks like a quality unit!

Keep your eyes open and when you see pigeons using a silo or barnyard, roosting of feeding, pull in and talk with the farmer. See if he would have his kids catch and sell them to you or ask if you can go in at night and get them. ROD

I just use the 1 1/2 gal plastic waterer that you fill and turn upside down, build up a wood stand to keep it above a 40 watt light bulb. This keeps it from freezing all winter long. I live where, NO MAN SHOULD HAVE GONE BEFORE! Also!!! ROD
