I agree, and of course the field setters "must" be sheared to compete. They would over heat quickly and perish, if not. I guess the thing that bothers me about the super long haired setters in shows is that it epitomizes the mind set of the show people. It's all about soft, flowing, smooth, beautif...

I looked at all the puppies in the pictures and it appears that this breeders knows nothing about dog breeds. Obviously from the ticked puppies they are supposed to be German Shorthaired Pointers, but then you have the Orange ones in the mix which indicates cross breeding.

Go buy a good quality brass snap and 4-6 black rubber bungee's, the ones with an "S" hook on each end. Close the s hooks on one end around the snap and then cut the other end off at various lengths that will interfere with the dogs front feet. That will slow him down.

6 or 7 years ago people could BS their way around range and speed, but with the Garmin, it's pretty black and white. I'd be willing to bet very few people have actually seen a dog at a real GPS measured 800-1000 yards. I can tell you from experience, you don't see much. If there isn't vantage point...
