Re: Bird Counts WAY down in South Dakota
Bad news for the big fat out of shape show bred flusher crowd. They won't be able to get their dogs to accidentally stumble across birds this year.

Re: destructive behavior
The worst I'seen are some of the ranchers in CO... would you drive down a 2 lane highway with a cattle dog on the back of your FLAT BED with a FIFTH WHEELER of horses attached! Every turn that dog new to crouch under the bam... maybe they didn't even want the dog. I believe that is considered to be...

Re: Meat smokers
I cannibalized a Home Depot job and built one out of an old Ben Franklin Stove that was missing doors, doubles as a fireplace when I take the smoker off the top. I can choke off the damper for desired temp. I have put a lot of albacore through it since these pictures were taken. Garrison http://i121...

I keep a bag of raw bones in my deep freeze, when we proccess a deer or buy a half of beef we have the large bones cut down specifically for the dogs. I give them to them on Sat. when I am home and let them work on them for a few hours. I gave three to a friend who was thinking about having the vet ...

Re: educate me
I wouldn't limit my self to just a llewelin, lots of good English Setter breeders out there. Not sure how it is possible to not like a Britt after you have been around one. There are good dogs in every breed just be patient and go watch the dogs work and interact with their people. They all do the s...

Re: Another Dog Food Question
Thanks for the replies. Hondo the link you sent was very interesting. Some really good info, I feel pretty good about what he is on now. The puppy numbers they recommended are very close to what he is getting now, the calcium is a bit higher. Sounds like 30/20 is the gold standard so thought it may ...

Re: Another Dog Food Question
I live in Southern California, the only real cold weather my dogs see is when we go out of state to hunt. It is a good price for how well my dogs have done while on Canidae and their consumption went noticeably down. Coats teeth and energy are good, and you could set a watch to when they have to rel...

Another Dog Food Question
Hello all, in my first post I would like to say thanks for all the good info that I have poached off this site. If the gun dog forum shut down I would probably be much more productive in the evening hours. I have read many post on feed and as much as I could find on the Internet but have a few quest...
