Re: How to "wing train"?
Its not really training. People do it with young puppies just see them point from about 5-6wks to 9-10wks of age. Really you should only do it just a few times it can cause sight pointing instead of using there nose. Its more of a cute thing

Im not really a clinch guy at all for dog training im more a hands on guy but I attended a NAVHDA handlers clinch over the weekend. Re: Gun-Dog-Rentals (Need your input!)
I think everyone has hit it on the head. I would like to add this. If ur willing to rent out ur dog to just anyone for fast cash i wonder how well the dog is being taken care of or trained by the owner. Its so much pride, work and time to get a dog there. So i have to ask the same question would you...

I found to keep 6 birds homing you need to keep about 12-15 on hand at all times for repuducing. You will lose some to hawks or what ever. I have 3 dogs but i have people over 2-3 times a week to train and im always helping new guys get started with puppies at my farm. When im bringing my own puppie...

Re: pigeon feed and grit
I mix 50# bag of checkers and 50 # bag of cracked corn. They eat the corn first then the pellets second. I was thinking it might be cheaper to lose the checkers and just buy grit with the cracked corn. Checkers have grit mixed in the pellets. Anyone do this? I feed about 60-70 birds at all times. Pe...

If you make it tall enough to walk in you will not regret it. Do it right the first time. The coop at my house is 4'-4' -5'H. I hate it tuff to clean tuff to get birds out. I will be rebuilding it 4'W-8'L-8'T or maybe just 4'wide but it will be walk in. I keep 8-10 birds in mine as many as 15 but i ...

Re: Pressure???
This is a interesting thread many different veiw points on what preasure is. It boils down to this you need to read the dog. Puppies / dogs can handle much more than people think. Its the handler that screws up in most cases. Dogs see black and white. Keep it simple and give them all they can handle...

Cage agreeded retrieving and honoring is judged much stricker than AKC stystem. . Trying to make the point that in any venue you play in its no short cuts to a high level broke gundog. Someo e has to put the work in the owner or the pro.

Your nuts thinking you can give a trainer a dog and 6 wks later be FF, steady and honoring to be hunt or test ready. Its no way even if he could the dog would have zero depth of any one learned task. FF on its own none right takes 6 wks from a pro sometimes 9wks. Besides every dog learns at its own ...
