Re: Thinking about first trial

Gary, as you know, you and I are at similar stages with our dogs. If you think you might have interest in any type of club or trialing or testing, I would definitely recommend giving it a try and seeing what happens. I joined a local NAVHDA chapter and have been training for the better part of this ...

Re: Help with a registration name

Hey Gary, even though Marsha and Joe didn't own Tucker's dam, I bought him from Marjo's and named him Marjo's Tuck of the Irish - i know i know, corny, but i was in the same boat, didn't really mean a whole heck of a lot to me since I only call him Tucker, haha. I'm not creative so I don't have any ...

I would also check out Lion Country Supply. Their Game Bird Bag can hold quite a few birds while still being a pretty manageable size. They don't have the option of a brass snap - which now that I think about it, probably would come in handy - but otherwise, I have a few that have served me very we...

The best tip I ever heard came from wagonmaster. He carries a spray bottle of water and spray's the dogs chest now and them. The best way to teach your pup to not point a bird is put scent on a dummy and have him track it. A dog should scent a bird and it fly off, that is why they point. Do not mess with fake scent, get your pup (you don't mention age or previous experience) on live birds for pointing, then use a bird fo...
