switching food might be the ticket or you might google Satin Balls It's a home "recipe" that show dog people use to keep weight on dogs who eat less when they travel and thus lose weight before competitions. Toxoplasmosis is a risk for pregnant moms. It is not any more likely in venison than in other red meats, but many people tend to under cook venison to keep in tender. Fully cook it to well done to be safe. And don't handle raw meat without thoroughly washing your hands. (as you already do, I am sure...

Also consider giving a treat dispensing toy like the "Buster Cube" or "IQ Treat Ball" and filling with a mix of regular food and very good smelling favorite small treats while in the crate. This takes some time for them to finish and keeps them busy while also being fun.

In the case of pointing dogs, when we work as a fluid team with minimal directionals needed, but when given they are taken snappily, without hesitation, and with trust and enthusiasm - rather than reservation and mere acceptance.

FWI - it's not uncommon for dogs going through steadying to miss marks. You can see what happens pretty clearly. They dog breaks before getting a great mark, expecting to see the bird flying/falling, then spins on the CC when they can't go, and then loses the mark. No worries there. If they are rest...

It is both normal and a behavior that needs to change. Like jumping to greet, roughhousing with teeth is built in and you have to redirect and re-teach. Biting litter mates was okay as play but with you NOT OKAY. It's hard for them to learn. Imagine if you suddenly moved to a culture where laughing ...
