The club that is working hard, providing volunteer labor, transporting and planting birds, providing food and beverages, paying expenses to get good qualified judges, driving dog wagon, etc so the event is fun and successful ...

Some trials will flat out not allow stallions.

For the last few years I have used a 2 quart canteen http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/n ... x?a=187243. This carries easily and the 2 quart capacity comes in real handy in September when its warm and natural occurring water may be scarce.

My Garmin is a great training and hunting tool. I use it in trials too as I sold off my tracker awhile back.

If it was solely about recovery of a lost dog, I think a good telemetry system is still the best and most reliable.

If a guy was smart i think he would own both.

In a Hunt Test i wouldnt have any problem having a handicapped handler being on a horse or an ATV so as to be able to enjoy the activities that most of us take for granted. My local trial grounds are about 30 minutes away. But have gone to Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, and Michigan. Planning a North Dakota trial this fall, Montana next fall, and maybe a trip to Arkansas in February of 2013.

Wild birds by far. I have stopped trialing in the fall since i hate loosing a weekend available to bird hunting. Even hunting its more about the dogs than it is killing birds. Dogs develop and do what they were meant to do finding and handling wild birds way more than working on pen-raised birds at ...

What is the age differences with puppy and derby? off the top of my head i'm not sure about puppy but in AKC Derby stakes are for dogs between 6-24 months old.
