10 month old Pup scared of training

Karlk dogs go through the second fear period at 10 months same as the first fear period at 10 weeks. If you have scared her or hit beat or scolded out of your own frustration she will react poorly at this age. Give her a few months off and just let her be a pup and be NATURAL to what she wants to be...

Thanks bustingcover. These issues are really easy to correct and some are corrected by the dog itself. After reading threads on here I feel really sorry for dogs.

If it's a dominance thing your not the pack alpha. Reassert yourself as the pack alpha, exercise and demand the behavior you're looking for.

To me that size is better than 60 pounds. That dog will have great stamina and handle heat better. I wouldn't be discouraged. It's actually a blessing.

I wouldn't go to the vet but I don't go to the vet at all I do my own vet work. Soak it in Epsom salt for a couple of days and get back if it doesn't start looking better.

I just finished working with a dog and have one kennel open. I work with dogs that have behavior issues (aggression, mean etc.). I don't charge I'm not a professional trainer. I do it because I enjoy working with dogs and watching them grow. If you can get the dog to my ranch and pay for the food wh...

My friend quill, competition is part of American fabric that makes us better than any other country in the world. I train young dogs for folks all the time. My older dogs care less about new young dogs. I'd say it's a 50/50 ratio of me training and my old dogs training. My dogs are hunting dogs not pets. With that being said, I'm not sure how family pets would react but your older dogs would be a great teacher ...

I don't look at it like mother dog, dad dog, brother dog etc. If there's two kick butt dogs I would breed hoping to get more kick butt dogs. I've heard in extreme cases of line breeding having genetic defects. This one instance was extreme.

Big running dogs make good all around dogs for a ranch setting. They're much funner in the field hunting. Just a whole different experience. I have a short ranged kicked back dog. She's got to go. I get bored watching her. She would be great at 78 but not at 33.

New Puppy Breed Questions

I have many different breeds and the gsp is far above any breed I own. They're the only dog I can coon hunt, hog hunt and bird hunt in the same day. Your best bet is research for a kennel that hunts gsp on more than birds.

I was wandering if any of you know of a kennel that produces big running dogs. I'm looking for a line that will range out over a mile at a time and unreal energy. I really find this thread funny. I am a bit oakier than most but my dogs catch and find all kinds of game. Sometimes on the ranch they'll have a coon treed, once in a while I'll hear them barking and they'll have a hog bayed up. Sometimes locked point on a dang woodpecker pecking my house. Take them...

I love smaller spazzed out crazy GSP's. Love it. Good luck on your search. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
