I recall when Northern NH was slammed from a "go there" notice...it happens. Folks troll for info...always have and always will, regardless of the lure chosen....the Internet simply makes it easy. The OP appeared interested in breasting out his birds......hatchets, digits, snippers, loppers, etc. would have less need and appeal in that case.
The Rapala with it's blade shape and simplicity would be as good as any for filleting off the breast meat.

You are already using what I use...the Rapala 6". Can't quite figger how a fillet knife like the ol' rap is hard to sharpen sufficient to fillet whatever......been a standard for stacked decades. I like the Lansky and RazorEdge sharpeners but some makes appear better suited to different blades. Neve...

RuffTough....no doubt. Thankfully, the composite doors are now used...avoids the old metal ones and the rusting, et al. The double door model kennels, each end, are nice for ventilation and the side door model enabled me to get two in the back seat area of the Tacoma....easy to tote 4 dogs now....tw...

That scattergun might fit your needs quite fine....I dunno.
But, I would not let that Nitro Special be an indicator of SxSs and whether or not you will like them....there are worlds of difference twixt entry and better.....not best, simply better.

I would support a pheasant stamp. A preserve hunt is at least $100 so I feel as though anywhere from $25 - $100 is reasonable for the service the game commission is providing. I would hunt the cover that is holding the birds and early in the day. Where that is, may be related to dryness, food, family group dispersal, etc. However, the first of the season would find far too many leaves and bracken, for me...as well as the heat. The only problem I have with CRP is farmers posting crp land when they are on the government dole. A small portion of my tax money that I pay every year goes into that farmers pocket yet I can't enjoy my tax dollars at work.
