You are confusing whoa with pointing. Whoa is simply a command to stop and not move. IMO whoa should be taught in the yard without birds. Once learned it can then be used in your field training.

Saturday at the Oak Ridge Pointing Dog Club in Harrisville, Pa. Dual hunt test, Oak Ridge and GSPC of Ohio. Jackson passed 2 legs of his senior hunter today averaging over 8 for both tests. He is only 8 months old. I am so proud of him. Everyone of these tests we come too he gets so many compliments...

Thank you again everyone. Jackson did it again. He is now a junior hunter. Conditions were bad this weekend but he did it like a champ. Rest tomorrow then back at it next weekend we start testing senior hunter.

It is saturday and we are at the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Indiana hunt test. Jackson passed today even with the wind gusting. If he passes tomorrow he earns his Junior Hunter.
