Wow. Some very sad stories posted.
I had one Jack Russell die from cancer too at age 9.
One Jack Russell stolen.

All of my GSPs and setters lived from 11-14.
Two TPLOs needed on the setter.

Thanks for the response. I'm mostly just worried about her safety at this point, because she can disappear in these woods so fast. Exactly.
It is all about repetition and a consistent response, which is why I tell folks that when you call the pup and it doesn't come, get up and get him/her every time.

Don't shoot your dog. I'm serious. Brand new hunters shooting over their dog are often so rev'd up that they can shoot their jumping up dog. Almost did it myself with a beagle chasing a rabbit.

How a pup is at 4 weeks has no bearing on how it'll turn out. Just pick the one you like the looks of best.
