Re: PA Grouse Trials

Well I went and had fun. As luck would have it, I was drawn in the first brace. We didnt have the best run, but I made it back to the truck with my dog. I learned a few things and we are heading out to Marienville, PA this weekend to have another go at it.

I may have gotten bit by a bug. :D

Im planning on entering my pup at Nittany or West Branch.

Re: Simple pigeon loft

I followed the same plan as the loft in the previous post. I kept 12 birds in it all summer. Granted most of the time they were free flying, but since this fall i have kept them in quite abit because of the hawks.
Im down to 7 right now. Scrape it out every day or two and it works great.

How is the charge? When mine gets low, I dont get any responce from my dogs. But If I turn it up a little more then they get the stimulation.
She may also just be blowing you off. The more excitement, the more stimulation is needed sometimes.

Keep taking her on short walks and letting her play and learn. No need to rush anything at this point. When your dvd's come in the mail watch them and follow the program.

It depends on how the breeder does his picking order. You should contact them and ask.
Usually first deposit gets first pick. Unless they have a higher price that someone pays to get first pick.

I'm not a pro but it makes sence to me in that the if the dog runs in on a bird and flushes it, you shoot the bird and the dog gets the bird in his mouth. The dog is being rewarded for flushing the bird. And thinks flushing equals birds and not the pointing and holding equals birds. If a bird flushe...

At this point a couple of this could happen. The scenario I'm wondering about is if the pup goes to the bird ...
