Re: garmin collar protection

my dogs are putting them through the test, and it looks like the dogs are getting the best of it. The collars are only a month old but they look like they are a few years old. Wanted to know what you are doing to protect them from getting banged around? Would be nice to see a picture of yours to un...

Re: NA Test Tips

Precision Reloading will send steel shot in a USPS flat rate package. With the cost of lead and the reduction in the weight per shell due to the density difference, I have found the shot cost about equal per shell. The cost of the special wads and powder can up the cost above regular lead shells. ht...

Re: Garmin Lesson #1

The collar's charge/use time is dependent on the update frequency that you set on the handheld. I want the most frequent updates to the handheld - and that uses more battery - I think 5 second updates off the top of my head is the fastest update time available. Re: Garmin Lesson #1

Calibrate the compass each and every hunt - even if it's the same day. And remember to do it while not holding your shotgun or to spin it on the hood of the truck!DAMHIKT I took the lanyard and looped it through my strap vest and put in in my left shell pocket - easy to see when I need to and I don'...

Re: Eating birds

That first 3-12 months is all about having fun. Getting the prey drive up and being excited to be in the field. I was told at my first training day, if your dog brings something back, great, if not get the bird so it doesn't develop a bad habit. I literally let the dog catch 1 bird that was live at ...

I joined last year around this time with my new WPG and have had a great time and learned a lot from the members. There should be some new membe...
