Usability, reliability, customer service, battery life, charge time. IMO I could not disagree with this post anymore. I once owned a Tri-tronics field 70 and had nothing but problems with it. I leave the dog in the truck and go in and talk to anyone & everyone and then when it's our turn I go and get him and bring him in. Rather then deal with cat's & dog's and people with the pup in a confined environment. Less stressful for me ! :D

Sounds like a GSP might fit the bill ! But don't go by what I say as I am a GSP owner ! :D I at one time hunted primarily archery deer . Now it's all about hunting with my dog . :D Can be very addicting so be ready with which ever breed you choose. Good Luck & lot's of research !

Max & I are the team. We hunt most every day of the season. Woodcock & grouse are what we hunt. Once in a while the folk's that got me into bird dogs will come for hunt visit. Which for me is very enjoyable . Were fortunate to live where we hunt.

IMO it does not matter when you get him as long as the time is right for you and your schedule. Dogs are a long term commitment. I am a stickler for research of the dog I will get. I also like to get them at 7 wks old. If you do get a pup at seven wks let him/her be a puppy.

The contacts posted are good prospects. The best way to get the dog you want is to KNOW that the patents ACTUALLY hunt the game you will be hunting - don't take someon's word for it. GO AND SEE the parents or at least the dam HUNT. Now is a good time to get on some grouse don't know where they will...

There are a lot of gamebird growers here in NY.
Try this website as they list gamebird breeders in all states. Might be one in your neighborhood.
You could buy some quail for training.

Max has his own truck "aka" The Max Mobile. Also it is one of my work truck's....... The one he's aloud in :D in the front seat anyway. In my personal truck he rides in a crate.
