I usually use the brown Ramset loads you get in Lowes or Home Depot. From quieter to louder: Acorn crimps, CCI crimps, Brown Ramset loads.

I noticed the ends of the CCI crimps are gray - I'm assuming these are the same as the "mythical" gray Ramset loads nobody ever seems to stock or carry.

'02 Chevy Duramax - my mpg average varies with tire pressure and driving. I always run low pressures in the winter and boost it in the summer. We have dogs with Avid chips, and one with a Home Again chip - none of the chips have moved, and whenever we have a dog at the vet with a chip we have them scan the dog to make sure it's working. The Avid chips are a one-time payment deal, but the Home Again chip has an annual fee attached to it.

I can say that after a year of frequent use, the Alfa .22 is great. For $189 it can't be beat, and unlike the GunX dry firing won't hurt it.

I have it on good authority that on average, the highest/best scoring dogs in the NAVHDA system are Pudelpointers. I agree. The pup is nervous around new things, strange sounds (like the neighbor's dryer vent - he barks at it), and strange people definitely freak him out. Right now he's just getting lots of love, a little bit of training & discipline, long runs on the check cord, and he gets to find a pigeon now...

The 12 gauge uses a DIN 021 o-ring. Viton would be the material of choice. You can probably get one at a hardware store for under $0.25.

I bought one of the Champion blank guns from LCS, and had the same problems as phermes1. So I bought a Alfa. It is top quality, and does not have cylinders or pins to lose like the NEF which is why I went with an Alfa.

I started with a sport basic G3, then got an Upland G2 EXP, and just bought a Pro 100 G3. The Pro 100 is for training, the Upland is for hunting. If I only could have one, it would be the Pro 100. It will run a beeper too, and it's only slightly more complicated to turn the beeper on & off remotely....

The area on the river open to the public for hunting is about 300 yards long, and is closely followed by a road. It is difficult to set up a shore blind because of the road, and the river moves fast enough that dropped birds hit the rapids downstream faster than the dog can swim to them. That's why.

Well, that's a good point. I'm mostly hunting small ponds that sometimes have ducks, and sometimes do not. Some ponds are right next to a river that holds lots of ducks, but generally I don't like to hunt the river.

I usually buy what I need when I need it. Note I said "need' not "want". I want a lot of stuff I don't need. I don't have enough money to get what I want, but I can usually afford what I need.
