I bought a pair of Irish setter Havoc in December. They fit really well, are comfy, and light. How well they will hold up I don't know yet. Have hunted in them about 15 times and no problems so next year will tell.

I let pups point anything they like and praise them for it. They seem to like butterflys and grasshoppers a lot. Dress warmer and let him have fun he will figure out the difference between the birds you want soon enough.

Most of Wehle's really good dogs were out crosses and the same holds true today. Some do nick well with other strains. I would stay away from Nitro Kennels. It will boil down to what you plan to do with your dogs.

I use carded birds and let them fly and air wash a little till they land. This way there are no man tracks for the pup to follow. I use a launcher mainly for backing drills.

You might consider buying your own birds and planting them for your dog. It should'nt be to hard to find a place to shoot. It would be cheaper and you could do it at your own covenience.
