Exactly, Ray. I also agree. Jon at perfect start would also agree. My first dog ,I worked with a trainer that started pups on wing clipped birds. Only took a year to get her back to steady solid points.

Sounds like you had a bad experience. I do NSTRA just for off season fun with my dog. She points a bird out of bounds, you just heel the dog away just like you would with a well trained dog in a AKC field trial. Have an old Valmet Lion 16 skeet and skeet. Perfect for quail. I even use spreader loads on pen raised bobs in trials. Shot at least 20,000 rounds through it. 5.5 lbs, carry it all day.

You don't have to run in every trial in a dbl/dbl. With me it would be stamina with 2 dogs. It is not all about numbers but numbers do help. On your score, there is style and intensity. A dbl/dbl is 2 trials going on at the same time Field A and Field B on 2 consecutive days. 4 trials on 2 days. Some guys run 3 dogs. That is pretty busy, 6, 1/2 hr runs a day. In NSTRA you are usually walking as fast as you can for the full 1/2 hr.nevermind wrote:What is a dbl/dbl trial?
